In WordPress you can change the word ‘category’ or ‘tag’ to something else.
These are known as taxonomies and ways of classifying blog posts on your site.
Let’s suppose you had a site which was a slightly different flavour. Maybe it was about WordPress Meetup Events. Then you may want to change category to event.
Then under events you could have terms like coding competitions, design challenges, plugin meet ups etc.
To be totally honest, I’ve never used this function in WordPress but you can find it by going to permalinks under settings and scrolling to the bottom.
